Service Projects School Benches Most of the schools run by the government support do not have benches for the children while the private schools and convents are providing benches with desks. Since the children coming to the government schools are from the poorer sections of the society, these children are being deprived of the basic amenities required in the schools. The efforts made to obtain support from the government are in vain as they are facing great difficulty even to pay the salaries for the teachers. Hence, in order to ensure social justice and to make the poor people attain pride and dignity; the basic amenities in the primary schools of the government have to be improved. In general, the public has started giving due recognition for the qualitative education for the children in the primary schools. Parents have started choosing the best schools for sending their children to acquire qualitative education. In the process neighbourhood schools run by the local government / municipality are being neglected and are not considered as best schools by the respective communities. In view of this the present project is to gain community confidence on the existing primary schools. This will also reinforce the children’s Right to Learn programme under implementation by Rotary. This will be a trendsetter in the community and lead to remarkable improvement in the ambience of the Schools in the State. The image of Rotary will get a big boost in the community with this project.Cost of each High School Student Bench 5 Ft. 3” length, Iron frame - US $60.
