RI District 3150 Webinar,

Our District will be organizing a Webinar [Online live Seminar] on 23rd February, 2010, Tuesday at 4:00 PM [Indian Standard Time ie GMT+05:30] for one hour on Signup & Serve As A Rotary International Volunteer. The Webinar is conducted to commemorate the Rotary s 105th Anniversary and with an  intent to familiarize & benefit the participants about Rotary Volunteer programme.

Our District Chair, Rotary Volunteers, Rtn Suryanarayana will be the Moderator. This Webinar will give an overview about Rotary Volunteers which is one of Rotary International’s structured programs designed to help Rotary Clubs & Rotary Districts to achieve their service goals.

Rotarians, Rotaractors, Innerwheel Members and Non-Rotarians from any part of world can take part in this Webinar.

Service Projects

Some of the focus areas for our community and vocational service projects include:

Hand wells
Safe drinking water is the basic need and the population is constantly exposed to water-borne diseases.


School Benches
Most of the schools run by the government support do not have benches for the children while the private schools and convents are providing benches with desks.

Sewing Machines
Rotarians have identified the women who have already been trained in tailoring and needle work and do not have their own sewing machine and as

RO Plants to Eradicate Florosis
"Fluorosis is a disease caused by excessive ingestion of fluoride through water. The upper limit of optimum fluoride level in drinking water for a tropical country like India is 0.5 PPM or 0.5 Mg/L. It is the total daily intake through water and food that determines the development of fluorosis. Nearly all foods contain fluoride and the upper limit of safe total intake of fluoride from water and food per day for an adult is 5 mg."

"Over 15,00,000 people are affected by Excess Fluoride in drinking water in over 1700 villages in the Districts of Nalgonda & Prakasam in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Over 25,000 people every year are completely disabled and crippled by this disease".

Milch Cattle
The income derived from the agriculture for small and marginal farmers are not sufficient to lead their families. The women folk wanted to engage themselves in income generation activities.
